xBox

Ummm xBox

Please note: This should be displaying a Tweet but because this theme doesn’t support the ability to do so, it looks stupid.

Yet Another Note: I obviously shamed this fucking thing into working. As soon as I posted the update above, oh…NOW we can see the fucking Tweet. Yeah. Sure. Whatever.

xBox Lovelyness

I got this lovely message when I turned on the xBox in my office this afternoon.

It told me to “sit tight” as though I am a small child.

How rude?

Drive by News: Xbox Rumours

Nice article over at Thurrott.

Sounds like we’ll be getting a choice for the next hardware installment of xBox.

One version will be an xBox with increased hardware. No worries on that one.

However, the second option — maybe not so much.

I’m not too excited about anything cloud based for the simple reason that if you live in a area with crappy internet, you’ll have issues trying to play games that you paid for. To me, that is crap.

xBox One X

I ordered a new xBox yesterday morning. I waited an entire year to see if the price would drop. It did not.

Looking forward to seeing how much better the graphics are. I have an xBox One S with 4k resolution but the processor(s) aren’t really designed for the advanced graphics of 4k.

Not too many options as I had when I ordered a One S. My One S is blue. I don’t recall seeing any other color available than black.

Update: NOT at all disappointed. This machine rocks!! You can tell the difference between the One S and the One X straight away. The details are amazing and the game play is a lot more smooth. Thumbs way up.

Star Wars Battlefront II

I had some reservations about running Battlefront II on my xBox One S. I had a feeling that the game would run slower and not be as responsive on the S as it would be on the new X.

So far, I am happy to report that the game runs perfectly. I had to restart the xBox once or twice in the very beginning but I think those problems have ironed themselves out.

The game runs just fine on your xBox One S. The graphics are simply amazing and I think it is an utter joy to be able to run around on Yavin 4, Naboo, Starkiller Base, Takodana (where Maz lives), Jakku, Kamino, Endor, Death Star II, Tatooine, Hoth, and Kashyyyk (where Wookies are from).

I love the arcade component because I can pick the battles and conditions of my choosing. My multiplayer skills are lacking in ground combat but my piloting skills are much better. Vulture droids, interceptors, bombers, and all kinds of other things you can fly around in make for a very interesting game.

I would recommend this game to everyone. It is loads of fun.

Monday Morning Post E3 Event

Good morning! Ahhh…hopefully….

I sat through the xBox E3 presentation yesterday which was a parade of “exclusive” and “World Premiere” game announcements.

The xBox One S gives way to the all new xBox One X (Project Scorpio) and will be available in November-ish with a price tag of $499.00.

If you own titles such as Forza Horizon 3 or Minecraft, those games will be getting a free update to 4k versions sometime in the fall. I believe I had a Minecraft-gasm during the keynote. I spend way too much time in Minecraft. I’ll own that.

The graphics in the racing demo were absolutely stunning. Puddles will expand based on how long it is raining and the world engines just seem to keep getting better and better.

Between Apple announcements and Microsoft announcements we should have a pretty awesome fall.

Pretty exciting.

GamerTag Change

First of all, I can’t believe that Microsoft charges 9.99 to change your gamertag.

Second, I paid it and changed my tag from MacDaddySrGamer to CaptainNukko.

I have no idea why that name came to me but it sure beats the old one.

I have no idea why I do what I do. Don’t judge me.
