This is how I train an LLM.
His name is Steve.
This is no small number. Anyone who thinks A.I. doesn’t have an impact on real people’s lives, here is your proof.
I created this with ChatGBT 4.0.
I get a daily A.I. email that provided the following prompt.
Generate an inspirational landscape image depicting my ideal future self from behind, wearing [insert clothing], [insert action like working, relaxing etc.], and situated in [describe ideal location like apartment, office etc.]
This is what I used for my prompt.
Generate an inspirational landscape image depicting my ideal future self from behind, wearing a polo shirt, sitting at a desk, and situated in office looking out at the ocean.
This is the image…
Pretty cool. My worry is that in the very near future, we won’t be able to tell what is real and what isn’t.
I have been given a sneak peek at Adobe’s new A.I. art generator called Firefly. It is currently in beta and by invitation only.
You can give this thing a bit of text and it will interpret your words and make something for you.
My prompt for the following pictures was “futuristic city with blue and white colors. Early evening. View from a nearby hill.”
Great article over at DEV.TO about taking a step back from A.I. research to give the process a chance to establish safety guidelines around its development.
So many movies have been made on this subject.
Terminator
2001: A Space Odyssey
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Westworld
The Matrix
I, Robot
Transformers
Wall-E
Ex Machina
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Just to name a few.

The frightening part of artificial intelligence hasn’t happened yet. Sentience. Once the machines achieve that, many believe it would be all over for the human race. There would be no chance to put that genie back in the box.
I think the end would come quickly. Who knows, they might decide to keep a few of us around for museum pieces for their robot friends.
It could all be mitigated if they never have access to the very things that could destroy us like guns, missiles, etc. However, there are many ways to end human existence. Since they can live in a vacuum, why not just go up to space and hurl a few asteroids down at us? The possibilities are endless.
So yes, I’ve signed the document asking the community to pump the brakes on A.I. development. Will they stop? Nope. We have no idea who is working on what. We have only our faith in humanity and well…humans suck.
I stumbled across an ad this morning in the news journal I read.
There is a small snippet that says AI-Vetted.
I want to be clear. As of this writing, there is no such thing as AI. Artificial Intelligence implies sentience which has not yet been achieved. Another way of describing it would be the term “self-aware.”
Science hasn’t built that yet. We throw around the term AI as if that is what the process should be called. How about smart algorithm? It doesn’t sound as cool as AI. However, smart algorithm is what we should be using.
As soon as someone creates AI, I’ll be one of the first people to post about it as I make my way to a remote country to escape the SkyNet that will most assuredly follow.
This is a pretty good article about why we should not create super intelligent AI technology.
Alibaba has an AI that they claim has passed the Turing test. However, they are using it for writing ad copy.
The Chinese-language tool is reportedly able generate copy that can be “promotional, functional, fun, poetic or heartwarming” with a single button click, and will be used on mainly Alibaba’s version of Amazon in China, Tmall and Taobao. There’s no word if it’s being developed for other languages just yet.
Unfortunately, I could see the real life Terminator shizz play out while I am still around. I was hoping to avoid it altogether. People do not pay attention or learn from movies, books, or history.
This documentary is free to watch until midnight.
It is very well done and asks the question “just because we can does it follow that we should?”
We’ve created countless films warning about the dangers of AI and yet, we still plow forward.
Human beings aren’t very bright.
